9U Rookie

9U (Rookie Ball) is for boys and girls aged 8 or 9 as of December 31 of the current baseball season. In this division, players graduate from hitting off a T, to hitting off a pitching machine that is set at a very hittable speed.  Many players and parents consider this the most fun division, because there’s so much hitting.

This division will play regular season games in May and June. We will have the summers off, with playoffs resuming right after Labour Day in September.

Teams will play twice a week on either a Wednesday or Thursday evening and all teams will play on Saturday morning or early afternoon.

Bloordale Rookies play up to 15 games from May to June. We will have the summers off, but hope to have our weekly “drop-in” program during the summer. Games will resume after Labour Day with our playoffs (teams are guaranteed 3 games in the playoffs).

When forming teams, every attempt will be made to mix the skill levels to ensure the teams are balanced accordingly, while at the same time balancing  player requests to be on teams with friends.
