FORMER BLOORDALE PLAYER WINS MARLIE SPONSORSHIP

by | Nov 18, 2019

Bloordale Baseball alumni Jake Sprenger was one of five local high school students recognized during the November 7 Etobicoke Sports Hall of fame banquet.  Jake received the prestigious Toronto Marlboros High School Scholarship.  This scholarship is awarded annually to students who have distinguished themselves in the classroom and community as well as having excelled both academically and athletically.

Jake learned his love of baseball during the five years he played with Bloordale.  He then graduated to the Etobicoke Rangers AAA club, where he played shortstop and second base for the next seven years. Jake was a member of the Bloordale Select team that won the 9U (Rookie Ball) provincial championship, and also played on several city championship winning teams with the Rangers. Jake also played rep hockey for the West Mall Lightning.

Jake is currently in his first year at the University of Toronto studying Electrical Engineering.

Bloordale Baseball is proud of Jake, and wishes him well with his studies, and as he continues his baseball career as a member of the U of T varsity baseball team.
