Congratulations to our Bloordale 1 team who ended their year as the SOBA Provincial Finalists after going 45-9 on the year.
In the quarter-finals and semi-finals the Bloordale 1 team found their bats, played solid defense, and outscored their opposition 22-0 and 17-0 to reach the finals. The Provincial Championship came down to Bloordale 1 and Leaside Black who had beaten each other earlier in the year at a tournament in Aurora.
In the final game, the Bloordale Bombers showed their true character and many outstanding skills by playing great defensively. Bloordale battled back to make it a tight contest after falling behind 6-0 after the first half inning. Unfortunately after leaving a lot of runners on base throughout the game the Bombers lost 13-9.
Despite the final loss, all of the coaches were proud of the boys for an outstanding year in which they beat many AAA and AA teams, and even won three tournaments along the way. The team now looks forward to playing at the Rogers Centre for an exhibition game on September 14th.
