by | Mar 8, 2013

Bloordale Alumni and Cincinatti Reds slugger Joey Votto announced this week he would be playing for Team Canada in the World Baseball Classic. But before doing so, he apologized to three of his former Bloordale coaches for taking so long to make it official. Seems his former coaches were going to make the trek south to see him play but cancelled flights when Votto’s particiaption in the WBC was unclear. Toronto Sun sports columnist Bob Elliott retold the story to Bob McCown on his Prime Time Sports show, Mar. 6, 2013.
