Bloordale Baseball alumnist Brandon “BJ” Hibbert has been named 2010 McMaster University Baseball Team Rookie of the Year.
It is an honour BJ earned every day he took the field to practice or play a game.
He led the league with 15 stolen bases in 14 games while batting .250 with 52 at bats. He had a slugging percentage of .308 while working opposing pitchers for 8 walks. With great speed and canon for an arm, BJ had a phenomenal 31 putouts while playing centre field for McMaster.
Brandon has been a key member of the Etobicoke Baseball Program. Brandon started playing his baseball at Bloordale, then played on the Etobicoke Titans (now the Rangers) AAA team, Martingrove AA team and last year played on the Etobicoke Rangers 17 Midget team. For a number of years, Brandon has also been seen on baseball fields throughout the EBA as an Umpire.
BJ is truly an example of an individual who is GREAT representative of Etobicoke Baseball.
