2012 Bloordale Annual General Meeting

by | Nov 22, 2012

Bloordale hosted its Annual General Meeting last night and installed our new executive for the 2013 season, recognized our volunteers, reported on our successes and lessons learned in 2012, and set some goals for 2013 when we will celebrate our 50th Anniversary.

Thanks to all of our volunteers who make the league so successful. Thank You to Brian Riddell who is retiring from the board after 8 years of dedicated service as a coach, convenor, and most recently Umpire-In-Chief. We would like to thank Brian for all that he has given to Bloordale and for the guidance he has provided to the young, and not-so-young of Bloordale’s community. Brian you will be missed but we know you are not going far and we will see you around the parks for years to come.

Jamie, Joe and Keiran Smith were recognized as Bloordale’s Volunteers of the Year. While Jamie and Joe are executive members, it is not for the board work that they and their son were recognized. The award was in recognition of the volunteer hours the family performed on tournament weekends at Millwood 1 during 2012, working on field maintenance and at the fundraising BBQ.

We would like to welcome to the executive team, Surendra Ganness, a passionate baseball man and community-minded person. Surendra will be working on a number of special projects during the coming year. Rick O’Connell, a long-time member of the Bloordale family has stepped up to serve as the league’s Vice-President for the coming year.

We would like to thank all those existing members of Bloordale’s Executive for agreeing to continue on in the thier service to the league and our community. (Click here a list of the board members.)

We will be posting the AGM Report documents here shortly. If you would like to receive a personal copy, please email [email protected]
